Equal-application hours rule, not fuel-source. Codified Ordinances 509.03 prohibits operation of any powered lawn mower, leaf blower, edger, chainsaw, or similar powered landscape equipment within 300 feet of any dwelling before 7am or after 9pm. Applies to gas and electric equally. No fuel-source ordinance has been introduced at Cleveland Heights City Council as of April 2026.

Runs the Lawn Mower and Leaf Blower Exchange Program (third annual round opened April 8, 2026: 70 residents swapped working gas units for 50 DeWalt electric mowers + 20 DeWalt electric blowers at the May 7, 2026 event; the city scraps the traded-in gas units; clevelandheights.gov/1563). The city's Climate Action Plan includes air quality standards relevant to gas-powered equipment.
